Alex and I had one goal and one goal only during this trip. That goal was to get on Justice League and I damn well wanted to make sure that happened. With SFStL's Flash Passes being reasonably priced and the option of using a coupon, we decided to get Platinum Flash. What pushed us over was that Gold doesn't include Justice League.
As soon as we got it, we reserved Justice League and headed over to ride. The wait was about six minutes.
As soon as we could reserve the next attraction we did and it was instantaneous. That attraction would be non other than American Thunder.
Knocking out two of the park's most popular attractions in a half hour felt good. Not to mention riding Thunder twice in the front row.
I hadn't realized how intense Mr. Freeze is in the back until I rode it twice in a row without getting out of my seat.
Overall Mr. Freeze has got to be one of the park's most themed attractions. That was until Justice League arrived though. Actually. That plot of land has had a long history of Dark Rides, so I take that back to an extent. But the icicles scattered throughout the station and air conditioning really help give the sense riders are in Snowy's Ice Cream Factory. One note is that both of us agreed the air conditioning aspect wasn't as strong as it had been in past years.
Around 1:30, we grabbed a bite to eat back by Pandemonium. The slices of pizza were equal from person to person, and we also got a snack to get that out of the way. I was impressed with the food. Boss started testing as we sat down and it was open by the time we finished, so we hit that up and got second row. It was pretty rough but just enough of it was better than before, that we went for a second ride.
We finally got on River King Mine Train and we both realized it's better than either of us remembered. Double rides in fourth row were nice.
I forget how exactly, but we rode Pandemonium around three. I was hesitant to ride, but not having to queue up for it pushed me over. It's one thing to wait forty-five minutes and then end up getting sick, it's another thing to wait thirty seconds. The car spun the entire ride, and I mean the entire time. We could've gone a second time but one was more than enough for me.
On our way to JB's for dinner, I took a closer look at our Fright Fest Friend over by Colossus. We also asked Flash Pass Employees why Justice League no longer showed up as a possibility to reserve. This is because there's a one time use. We weren't even upset about that, we knew going into it that we wouldn't get unlimited reservations. But "limited use" says at least twice. That's how it is on Goliath at SFGAm. Can't ride twice, but the second reservation can at least be made.
One of the issues we encountered when using Flash Pass is that Six Flags St. Louis had us use the same ramps as those with ADA Passes. That meant longer wait times for all of us. We would take somebody's seat in the normal queue, that would upset them. Then we would have to wait behind those with ADA Passes, not that this is even a problem. It's just that these ramps are not made to handle people leaving the station, and having two groups with different needs entering at the same time. Not to mention you need to redeem the current Reservation to use the next one on Flash Pass. All of this could be solved if the Flash Pass merged with the normal queue like at most other Six Flags Parks I've been to.
Now that I've gotten all of that out of my system. Here is a simple nerd shot of Ninja. The bar on the bottom rises to release the restraints.
Alex wanted to check out the Arcade to see if our favorite game, Down The Clown was there. It was not unfortunately. However there was good vantage points to get pictures of Batman.
The Six Flags Railroad looks really nice puffing above us as we headed towards Log Flume and American Thunder.
Usually the excess steam is released on the other side of the park, over by Batman in Studio Backlot.
These three pictures are all of stuff that I hadn't noticed until seconds before the shutter took them. I hadn't noticed the Thunder River Sign from Mr. Freeze's Exit, Tsunami Soakers had a floor panel out, and American Thunder's station has fans in it.
We ended our day with a second row ride on American Thunder, as many other plans were botched. We returned the FlashPass early and went back to Justice League, but they had closed off the queue by then. So we figured maybe Screamin Eagle, and that had a full Queue. Finally after seeing about River King Mine Train and finding it was closed. We gave up and returned to the awesome GCI for the very last ride of the night.
